As teachers, we don’t want to hurt the feelings or egos of our learners, so we avoid discussing mistakes or misconceptions. In doing so, learners are in danger of repeating the same errors, and we are reinforcing a fixed mindset. What if we took advantage of failures as learning opportunities by pointing out mistakes and praising learners’ risk-taking? Might doing so push students to start over and to persevere?

Check out these 50 tips for teaching learners how to learn and grow from failures.

You can look forward to more simple tips to continue to promote growth mindsets in your classroom in upcoming TXTS4 Teachers.
