Light Up my Learning
Guest User
The students were tasked with creating a 3D project that highlighted anything they had learned about 1st semester in any core class. They were given access to art materials, cardboard, construction paper, stuff from home, and half of a strand (cut by me) of battery-powered "fairy" lights. (I got my fairy lights for free from the STEM Resource Center, but they are also pretty cheap on Amazon.) I also gave the students a length of wire and enough batteries to power up the strand but not enough batteries to use the power box as intended. Some students did not even get a power box.
Along with the students needing to visually show something in 3D that they learned about and put together a paragraph explaining it, they also had to figure out how to get the lights to function without directions.
