Stay Interviews: What We’ve Learned
Guest User
You may remember last year’s post on Stay Interviews. Since then, we’ve learned how to make these even more impactful and time effective. Further study has shown that the quality of the questions used in discussion is far more important than the number of questions asked, so 5-6 thoughtful and deliberate questions is perfectly sufficient. Additionally, fewer questions saves some time! No longer do you need to plan for 45-60 minutes for an interview; 30 minutes will do just fine. The shorter interview allows a teacher to schedule it during a prep period or get classroom coverage for a briefer time. Less time away leads to less resistance, and everyone’s schedule becomes a little easier to manage.
